Interior Lighting
The interior lamps include both the driver and passenger front door panel courtesy lamps, LH and RH overhead console map lamps (for vehicles without moon roof), LH front and RH front map lamps (integrated with the compass/electrochromic inside rear view mirror, for vehicles with moon roofs), both the RH rear and LH rear assist handle reading lamps, the foot lamps, the luggage compartment lamp, glove compartment lamp and the vanity mirror lamps.
The courtesy lighting feature provides lighting to aid the driver while entering and exiting the vehicle, and for low light driving conditions.
The courtesy lighting feature can be enabled through the panel dim switch on the lighting control module (LCM), in the illuminated entry mode when the driver or passenger front door is opened to enter the vehicle, or by opening any door. The theater lighting feature turns the courtesy lamps on or off when the vehicle is in the illuminated entry mode or when any door is opened.
The illuminated entry feature will turn on the courtesy lamps if the ignition is in the OFF position and the driver front door handle is lifted, any button on the keyless entry keypad is pressed or the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry remote transmitter is pressed.
The illuminated entry will turn off after 25 seconds. The courtesy lamps can be turned off before the 25 second delay has expired by turning the ignition switch from the OFF to the RUN position, or if the doors are locked either using the keyless entry keypad or the keyless entry remote transmitter.
Demand lighting includes courtesy lamps that are illuminated by directly or indirectly actuating a switch.
Lamps that are controlled on demand include the LH front and RH front map lamps, both the RH rear and LH rear assist handle reading lamps, the glove compartment, luggage compartment and both illuminated vanity mirror lamps.
The battery saver feature prevents excessive battery drain from loads inadvertently left on. When the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position and the driver seat is unoccupied, power is interrupted to the courtesy lamps after 10 minutes, the demand lighting and warning chimes after 30 minutes, and the headlamps and parking lamps after 10 minutes.
