4-3 FUEL AND LUBRICATION SYSTEM
INSPECTION AND CLEANING
If the fuel filter is dirty with sediment or rust, fuel will not flow smoothly and loss in engine power may result. Clean the fuel filter with compressed air.

FUEL TANK REMOVAL
• Remove the seat and frame cover assembly. (Refer to page 5-3.)
• Turn the fuel valve to "ON" position.
• Remove the fuel tank mounting bolts CD.
• Disconnect the fuel level gauge lead wire coupler.
• Slide the fuel tank backward and lift up it, and disconnect the fuel hose (1) and vacuum hose 2 from the fuel valve.
• Remove the fuel tank.
A WARNING
Gasoline is very explosive. Extreme care must be taken.
