WARNING
• Never work near open flame or never smoke near the working site of fuel-related components.
• Be sure to prevent the fuel from splashing with a close or like, when the union bolt or other connected section of the fuel line is loosed or slackened.
• When draining the fuel, be sure to place the suitable container, under the connected section of the fuel line.

27-1-2 OPERATION BEFORE REMOVAL
1. Relieve the fuel pressure
2 Disconnect the negative terminal of the ground wire from the battery negative terminal.
CAUTION
• Be sure memorize the malfunction code before disconnecting of the battery cable. Otherwise the malfunction code(s) will be erased by disconnecting the battery cable.
3. Remove the fuel filler cap.
4. Drain the fuel to the container by removing the fuel drain plug.

27-1-4 POINTS OF REMOVAL
1. Disconnection of fuel suction tube S/A. Refer to BBE-86.
27-1-5 POINTS OF INSTALLATION
1. Installation of the fuel pump assembly
2. Never reuse the used gasket again.
3. Install the fuel pump assembly to the fuel tank while aligning the protruding section of the fuel pump with the hole on the bracket by installing the attaching screws with new gasket interposed. Then, tighten the attaching screws to specified tightening torque evenly.
4. Install the fuel tank assembly to the vehicle. Then, connect the fuel hoses, fuel tubes and each connectors of wire harness.
CAUTION
• Connect the fuel hoses to the fuel tube (for emission). Then, attach the new hose bands as shown.
CAUTION
• Connect the fuel tank sub inlet hose to fuel inlet with new hose band as shown and tighten the hose bands securely.
CAUTION
• Hose clamp should be tighten until attaching bolt base contact with the spacer.
