7. HYDRAULIC TANK
7.1 PREPARATION FOR REMOVAL
(1) Remove panel assy (4 ), guard (12) and other guards necessary to remove the hydraulic oil
tank. (Refer to 4. GUARDS.)
(2) Bleeding internal air of tank
Press the rubber cap by your finger tip to bleed off the inside air.
A Keep pressing until the hissing stops.
(3) Remove cover (A1-3).
1) Remove six capscrews (A1-6) M10 X 20.
2) Remove cover (A 1-3).

3) Remove suction strainer (A2).
(4) Remove cover (A1-4).
1) Remove six capscrews (A1-6) M10 X 20.

2) Remove cover (A 1-4 ).
3) Remove filter element (B6-1 ).
(5) Turn the handle of element assy. (B), and disassemble the removed filter element (B6-1 ).
Disassemble parts : (B), (C), (D), (E), (F)
(6) Draining hydraulic oil
Place pump in tank and draw up hydraulic oil.
Capacity of tank: 156 L (41 gal)
7.2 REMOVAL
(1) Draw out the suction hose (3)
1) Remove two clips (13) of the tank side.
2) Pulling out hose (3).

(2) Disconnecting the main pipe return hose
1) Remove coupling (10) and separate tube (1) and (3).

3) Remove drain hose (25) of swing motor

(3) Disconnecting pilot return hose
1) Remove pilot hose (A?).

2) Remove pilot hose (C16).

(4) Remove drain hose (7) of solenoid valve

(5) Remove in-line filter assy and pump drain piping
1) Remove two capscrews (A 15) M6 X 60 and inline filter assy (A 17) .

(6) Remove hydraulic tank attaching bolt (See Fig. 7-4)
Remove four capscrews (8 1) M 16 X 40, and a shim (83).

A Record the shim locations.
(7) Slinging hydraulic oil tank
Place a wire sling, using the lifting plate on top of the tank.
Tank weight: Approx: 150 kg (331 lbs)
7.3 INSTALLATION
(1) Cleaning hydraulic oil tank
(2) Cleaning suction hose
(3) Cleaning mount of tank.
Installing is done in the reverse order of removing.
(4) Install four mounting capscrews (81) M16 X 40 with Loctite #262. (See Fig. 7-4)

Tightening torque : 22 kgf·m (160 lbf·ft)
A If the clearance (gap) between the tank mount and the frame is more than 1 mm (0.04 in), adjust it with a 1 mm (0.04 in) shim (83) and fasten them together.
(5) Connection of suction hose (3)
1) Apply PERMATEX on pipe side of hose connection and insert it.
2) Put the hose with clip (13).
Tightening torque : 0.55 kgf·m (4.0 lbHt)
(6) Assembling return element
Assemble filter element by the use of element kit (86-2). (See Fig. 7-3, 7-9)
1. Two elements (D) are used as one set.
2. Replace 0 ring (C) and packing (F) with new ones respectively
(7) Installing return element (86-1)
(8) Installing suction strainer (A2)
(9) Tighten caps crews (A 1-6) M 10 X 20 that attach tank covers (A1-3), (A1-4) .

Tightening torque: 4.7 kgf-m (160 lbf·ft)
A Replace 0-ring fitted on the back side of tank cover (A1-4) with new one.
