ENGINE LUBRICATION
Oil Pressure Switch Test
1. Remove the splash shield and the engine undercover (see step 22 on page 5-5).
2. Remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (see page 10-13).
3. Remove the A/C compressor without disconnecting the A/C hoses (see step 28 on page 5-6).
NOTE: Hang the A/C compressor with a rope.
4. Remove the oil pressure switch connector (A) from the oil pressure switch (B).
5. Check for continuity between the positive terminal (C) and the engine (ground). There should be continuity with the engine stopped. There should be no continuity with the engine running.
Oil Pressure Switch Replacement
1. Remove the engine undercover and the splash shield (see step 22 on page 5-5).
2. Remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (see page 10-13).
3. Remove the A/C compressor without disconnecting the A/C hoses (see step 28 on page 5-6).
NOTE: Hang the A/C compressor with a rope.
4. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector (A), then remove the oil pressure switch (B).
5. Remove any old liquid gasket from the switch and the switch mounting hole.
6. Apply a very small amount of liquid gasket to the oil pressure switch threads, then install the oil pressure switch.
NOTE: Using too much liquid gasket may cause liquid gasket to enter the oil passage or the end of the new oil pressure switch.
7. Loosely install the compressor mounting bolts and the compressor through bolt in the numbered sequence shown. Failure to follow this sequence may reduce the life of the drive (see step 37 on page 5-18).
8. Install the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (see page 10-13).
9. Install the splash shield and the engine undercover (see step 42 on page 5-19).
