"Removing Air From The Fuel System"
"After replacing the final fuel filter or when the fuel tank has run out of fuel, the air must be removed from the fuel system."
"1. Loosen the inlet fuel line (Item 1) [A] from the fuel injection pump."
"2. Open the left rear access door. Operate the fuel lift pump lever [B]. Operate the lift pump until the fuel coming out of the inlet fuel line (at the injection pump) does not have any air bubbles. Tighten the inlet fuel line."
"3. Open the top plug (Item 2) [A] and side plug (Item 3) [A] at the injection pump."
"4. Operate the fuel lift pump lever [B]. When fuel flows with no air bubbles showing, tighten the vent plugs in the following order: a. Injection pump side plug (Item 3) [A]. b. Injection pump top plug (Item 2) [A]."
"5. Loosen the four fittings (Item 1) [C] at the fuel injectors."
"6. Move the throttle to 1/2 open position. Turn the engine with the starter until no air bubbles show at the fittings."
"7. Tighten all the high pressure fittings at the fuel injectors."
