1. Remove the hood.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
3. Remove the battery (10653).
4. Remove the battery tray (10732).
5. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) (9F472). For additional information, refer to HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR .
6. Drain the engine coolant. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
7. Recover the A/C refrigerant. For additional information, refer to RECOVERY/EVACUATION & RECHARGING .
8. Remove the catalytic converter.
9. Remove the radiator splash shield. .
10. Disconnect the starter motor wiring. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
11. Remove the drive belt (8620). For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING .
12. Remove the A/C compressor (19703). For additional information, refer to COMPRESSOR .
13. Disconnect the lower radiator hose and heater hose.

15. Remove the torque converter inspection cover.
16. Remove the torque converter nuts.

24. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring (9D930) from the transaxle internal wiring harness connector, turbine shaft speed sensor, transaxle range sensor and the heated oxygen sensor connector.

25. Remove the radiator (8005), fan shroud (8146) and fan motor (8C607) as an assembly. For additional

26. Remove the transaxle cooler lines. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
27. Disconnect the accelerator cable (9A758) and the speed control actuator cable (9A825).
