Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve 2.3L
Removal and Installation
1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Section 303-03 .
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01 .
3. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve electrical connector.
4. Remove the rear driveshaft. For additional information, refer to Section 205-01.
5. Remove the bolts retaining the catalytic converter to the muffler. Discard the exhaust converter outlet gasket.
NOTE: Manual transmission shown, automatic transmission similar.
6. Support the transmission with a suitable transmission jack.
7. Remove the six bolts (three on each side) retaining the crossmember to the frame.
8. Remove the retaining nuts and the crossmember.
